DEPARTMENTS (WIP)

Our team is divided into five different departments in order to work in a more comfortable and organised way. We invite you to get to know the different functions we have and a small part of the work behind the design of a model aircraft.

Aerodynamics Department

The Aerodynamics department, is in charge of designing the aerodynamic elements of the model, ensuring that they must withstand the target payload. Among the tasks carried out by the department, the most important are the simulations; it is very important to check the various parameters of the wings, flaps and other elements of the aeromodel to ensure the correct functioning of the aircraft.

Structures Department

The Structures Department is in charge of studying the structural needs of the model and guiding the manufacturing process. They also carry out the design of the fuselage, as well as the necessary simulations to certify that the aircraft withstands all the loads that occur along the whole flight envelope.

Department of Propulsion and Dynamics

It is comprised of two Departments in one. On one hand the Propulsion Department and on the other hand the Dynamics department.

The Propulsion Department se dedica al diseño, mantenimiento y ensamblaje del sistema de propulsión del aeromodelo, que incluye el motor, la hélice, la batería y toda la electrónica controladora. Todos estos componentes requieren la realización de ciertos cálculos y simulaciones para comprobar el funcionamiento y aguante de estos. Mientras que el departamento de the Dynamics department is responsible for the design and assembly of the landing gear, as well as simulations of the structural loads it must withstand, as this element of the model must be very strong.

Electronics and Control Department

This department is responsible for designing, maintaining and implementing the model aircraft circuits. This includes designing the control surface mechanisms, such as the flaps. In addition, they choose the hardware and the controller to be used for the electronics.

Organization and Marketing Department

This department is responsible for managing the internal organisation of the team on the one hand, and managing the image of the team on the other; this includes the design of the website, the dossier and other reports, as well as the administration of social media.

It is also responsible for contacting companies to obtain sponsorship and funding for the project, a very important task as we do not have our own funding.
